Maven Central Repository

Postby schumnana » Mon Nov 17, 2008 3:06 pm

Hi,

I am an developer on Javabuilder, a java GUI framework with a view in .yaml (a superset of JSON) and over miglayout (http://code.google.com/p/javabuilders/). We will migrate to maven to deploy in the maven central repository but we have a dependency on jide-oss. I know you deployed your jar on the javanet repository but it is forbirdeen to add a custom repository in a pom deployed on the central repository (http://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/gui ... pload.html). Can you add a rsync server to synchronize your deployment with the official central maven repository.

Thanks in advance.

Could you please let me know exactly what to do? I am no maven expert.

Thanks,

Actually, if you want to add a lib in maven central repository, you must have all your dependencies in the maven repository.
Today, jide-oss is deployed only in the java.net repository not in the central.

I have a solution to resolve the problem.
I created a sourceforge project https://sourceforge.net/projects/ouaibsky/ to add the possiblity for a project to deploy in it and rsync with the maven repository :
There are two solutions to deploy in it :
- you will create an account for this project, you change your pom.xml to deploy in this repository (the distributionManagement), I rsync your lib with the maven repository (the best solution)
- you add me as a developer (to prove to maven I'm implicated in the projet), I deploy the lib in my repo, I rsync your lib with the maven repository

I hope I'm clear.

I can certainly add you as a developer to jide-oss project if that helps. You can request the role from java.net website so that I can approve it.

Ok I will do that, it will be easier. I must just send a mail on dev@jide-oss.dev.java.net ?
