Ability to search in reverse direction in TreeSearchable

Postby kristin » Wed Jul 12, 2006 12:29 pm

Hi,

I am using TreeSearchable to add incremental searching to a tree widget. I'd like the ability to search in the reverse direction (bottom to top). Can you please add an option to search in the reverse direction?

This would be useful in a component which stores a history that the user wants to search through. The last item is most recent and the user will want to find that item before an item near the top.

Thanks,
Kristin

Any reason you need in reverse direction? I thought it's awkard to be that way but if you have a good reason, we have no problem adding this feature.

Yes. We have a tree that contains a history of items. Everytime the user does something we add an item to the bottom of the tree. When a user starts to look for an item in the history, they will expect it to find the most recently added item first (which is bottom to top). Does that make sense?

if the cell selection is enabled, sometimes the user wants to search row first, column second, but other users want to search column first, row second.

It ends up I have to implement my own table searchings.
