Under which license are the demo-programs?

Postby Stenley » Wed May 09, 2007 6:52 am

Hi. I'm again. :)

JIDE released its JIDE-Common Layer as OpenSource. But under which license are the demo-programs in jide_demo.zip or which exsists as Webstart-program on your side ?

In the sources stands only something like
/*
* @(#)JideBorderLayoutDemo.java
* Copyright 2002 JIDE Software Inc. All rights reserved.
*/

:?: So, under what license is for example JideBorderLayoutDemo.java ? :?:

We didn't specifically say which license the demo is released under. The whole demo is built on top of an in-house demo framework which depends on components from JIDE Docking Framework and JIDE Components. So you feel free to copy any code from the demo as long as it runs fine (meanning you have the valid commercial license if the demo code uses some of commercial components).

Please also note, the demo is not part of redistributable. You may OK to copy some code from the demo source code but you shouldn't copy any of the icons used in the demo.

Thanks,
