JideSplitToggleButton does not listen for SELECTED_KEY

Postby jeffastorey » Thu Dec 08, 2011 7:18 am

Changing the Action.SELECTED_KEY on a JideSplitToggleButton seems to have no effect. In JideToggleButton, the actionPropertyChanged method is implemented to handle the selected_key. Is there a reason the JideSplitToggleButton does not?

Should either one of those classes override AbstractButton.shouldUpdateSelectedStateFromAction to return true?

I am using jide-oss-2.10.2.

Thanks,
Jeff

Do you mean JideSplitButton when you mention JideSplitToggleButton? If so, it's because that JideSplitButton is not a subclass of AbstractButton. Instead, JideSplitButton extends JideMenu.

Hi, I actually meant JideToggleSplitButton, sorry for the confusion.

I have a JideToggleSplitButton which is initialized with an Action
Code: Select all
new JideToggleSplitButton(someAction)

On the action I call
Code: Select all
someAction.putValue(Action.SELECTED_KEY,true)
but the button containing the action does not become selected.

JideToggleSplitButton extends JideSplitButton, which is not an AbstractButton.

Right, but wouldn't it make sense to implement behavior to honor the selected state of the JideToggleSplitButton since it can be toggled?
