The icon means the link is password protected. After you purchased JIDE products, you should receive an email "Thanks for choosing JIDE products" which contains the user name and password.

(1) JDK5 and above is required. If you are running JDK1.4, please use the jars generated by Retroweave.

(2) In the regular release version, you will not see the line numbers in the stack trace because the debug information is removed from the jars. But if you use the debug jars to run your application to reproduce the stack trace, you will see exact line numbers in the stack trace. Please note, jars in the debug release should only be used for troubleshooting purpose.

How to get and use the license key?

The package includes all our products, not just the products you actually purchased. However in order to use them, you need to get a license key from us. The license key will only enable you to use the products you purchased.

To get the license key, please send email to sales@jidesoft.com. We need following two things from you in order to generate a license key. So please make sure you have the two things in the email when asking for the license key.

1. The Company Name. If you purchase this product as person, your name is also fine.
2. The Project or Product Name where JIDE products are used. We need this in order to differentiate in case there are two projects in the same company using JIDE.

Once you get the license key from us, just add this line to the beginning of your application's main method.

   com.jidesoft.utils.Lm.verifyLicense("COMPANY NAME", "PROJECT NAME", "LICENSE KEY");

It will work in most cases. Sometimes you might use one of our components as static field which will get initialized before the main method. In this case, you can add a static block before that field.

We have a total of nine redistributable jars. Each product corresponds to one jar. And one additional jar (jide-common.jar) is the common layer used by all our products. When you release your product, you just need to include the jars you used. For example, if you only purchased and used JIDE Docking Framework, you just need to include jide-common.jar and jide-dock.jar in your release. For more information about those jars, please refer to Readme.txt under lib folder in the release.

If you get license warning dialog after upgrade to 1.9.x using the previous generated license key, please email us your current license key information. We may need to generate a new license key for you.
